Neology Delivers Heightened Security with Gen2v2 Support on 6204 Reader and New Transponders


Neology, Inc., a leading provider of innovative mobility solutions and services for transportation, tolling, and public safety markets, announces the support for Gen2v2 on its 6204 RFID reader.

While most applications only require RFID transponders to respond to signals with its identification, some customers might want to embed more information within a transponder. As a result, data encryption and accompanied reader and transponder authentication led to the development of the Gen2v2 standard.


Gen2v2 provides heightened encryption, privacy and file management capabilities. Neology has been collaborating with several partners to optimize its implementation of Gen2v2 to ensure high read rate in a high-speed tolling environment. The best practices for implementing Gen2v2 will be released once Neology has completed its join efforts with its partners.
